Narrative

“American Psycho for the world of social media influencers.” Who are the people we glorify and idolize on social media? What if your favorite influencer was actually a blood-thirsty cannibal? In this gripping short film, we follow a celebrated wellness influencer whose relentless quest for perfection spirals into a chilling obsession. As he pushes the boundaries of health and optimization, his façade of control unravels, revealing a dark and dangerous reality.

The Author is a mid-twenties-something flailing through Los Angeles on a deranged quest to become his generation’s preeminent (and only) celebrity author of fiction. Fueled by many drugs and a megalomaniacal ambition, The Author devises a master plan to first become a famous actor (as if that’s easier). So begins The Author’s cavalcade of debauchery—crashing celebrity parties, dating influencers to leach their followers, lying his way onto Hollywood sets, and eventually descending into addiction, crime, and despair. Somehow, absurdly, The Author manages to rise from the ashes and manifest his dreams, becoming the A-list star we all know and celebrate, and makes good on fulfilling his boyhood promise to write that damn novel.

Time flies in this shot-on-iPhone episode of comedy series “The Pull Out.” In part two of the series, roommates Anthony and Billy navigate the growing pain of sharing a living space during the pandemic. Designed to flow in one unbroken shot, this was an experiment in lofi, no budget filmmaking to see how far we could push the “rebel without a crew” ethos.
